The mainstream media often carries the news of horrific accidents in which expensive vehicles and children from rich families are involved. Since Maninder singh is one of the top clients of vansh diwan, the families know each socially and sometimes visit their house. When Maheep Singh visits the house he finds that Vamini is not at home, she is out shopping with Gayatri the housekeeper. Instead, he finds Baby, the daughter of Gayatri, the housekeeper from Jharkhand. Maheep singh who misbehaves with almost everyone who he considers of lower social status, sexually assaults her and leaves.

When baby is found unconscious, the police are called and they investigate the case. Using the evidence left at the crime site and other evidence like the cctv footage available, they find that Maheep Singh is the main suspect. While Priti Diwan is determined to get justice for the young girl, her husband is forced to defend the son of one of his richest and most powerful clients. This conflict adversely affects the relationship between the couple.

After some time, Maheep Singh is missing and later found dead in his farmhouse. gayatri, the housekeeper becomes the main suspect in the murder, and how the matter is resolved forms the rest of the story.
One of the most interesting aspects of this book, is the detailed description of how lawyers, detectives, powerful people are using burner phones and sims extensively to keep their data, identity confidential, so that it becomes difficult to trace the person making and receiving the phone calls, smses, messages.
