Review : Kansa by Prassant Kevin 0

The novel Kansa begins with a couple returning from a wedding in a car, colliding with a woman at night, They think that they have met with an accident, however the woman is not injured, she is in a daze, after an extremely traumatic experience. Later it is found that the woman Mehar had been kidnapped, and her new born baby had been murdered. The case is assigned to ACP Saargi Desai, from delhi who has developed a reputation for being a fearless officer. The killing of the baby revives the memory of similar murders, where pregnant women were kidnapped, and later they were found dead, along with their babies. The killer who was never identified, or traced was nicknamed as Kansa in the media, after the mythological figure

To solve the case ACP Saargi Desai takes the help of a criminology professor Virat, nicknamed professor black, who is considered to be greatest expert in catching criminals . Mehar is asked to draw the place where she was kept after being kidnappped, and the ACP and professor find that property belongs to one Dayal Singh who was living in Pune. When they go to Pune, they find that Dayal Singh died some time ago, allegedly killing himself in prison and he was imprisoned when found guilty of killing his wife, His adopted daughter is also found dead, and his son has also disappeared. There is little information available except some old photos of a party which show the wife of Dayal Singh, Mira flirting with another man

The ACP and Professor black who had a troubled past, are then able to use the resources available to trace the son of Dayal singh and also find out more about the boyfriend of Mira, Roy the owner of a pharma company. A lot more blood is shed as ACP and her associates try to find out who the real Kansa is, the motive for killing new born babies in the fast paced, extremely well written mystery novel which could be easily made into a movie or television serial

The indian mainstream media often portrays the indian intelligence and security agencies as honest saints who will never break the law. However some indian citizens realize the hard way, that indian intelligence and security agencies are entering their house repeatedly with duplicate keys and stealing whatever they wish to without the knowledge of the person residing in the house, especially if bribed by large corporates like google, tata. This harassment method is cause home intrusion, was originally perfected by KGB, the soviet secret service has been discussed in other novels also, however Kansa is the first indian novel which shows security agency employees using this method

For example the intelligence and security agencies in panaji, goa have been repeatedly stealing the documents of a harmless google competitor, engineer with a better 1989 jee rank than google ceo sundar pichai to cause mental stress and force her to agree to identity theft, give up her impressive resume including btech 1993 ee degree, investment to the 10 lazy greedy mediocre google, tata sponsored goan sex workers, cheater housewife, blackmailer and other fraud R&AW/CBI/indian intelligence employees who never answered JEE, yet get a monthly indian government salary for faking a btech 1993 ee degree. For example in August 2017, the domain investor found that some important documents which she had kept in a bag have disappeared, stolen by the local intelligence and security agencies who have duplicate keys

The book is also interesting as it is a reflection of the lifestyle of young people today. As Karan Johar mentions in his book “An unsuitable boy” many of those who graduated in the early nineties were quite innocent and did not have any affairs. In contrast, ACP Saargi Desai had hundreds of one night stands at a fairly young age. Also it appears that government employees like ACP Desai, shop online extensively as they can afford to unlike broke domain investors subjected to identity theft. The book also shows how wealthy people manipulate the system in India without being caught. The writer has an excellent writing style, it is difficult for the reader to put down the book. There are almost no spelling and grammar mistakes, unlike most of the indian books available at goodreads giveaways

An extremely well written fast paced mystery thriller, ideal for relaxing and forgetting everything else

Review : State vs Amrit Kumar by Dr Govind Sharma, IAS, retired 0

One of the reasons for brain drain from and poverty in India, is the high level of corruption and nepotism in India, which the mainstream media refuses to discuss and many young people are not aware of. The book ” State vs Amrit Kumar” exposes the high levels of corruption, nepotism, lack of morals, crime, betrayal which few indian authors are honest to write about . The book is written in flashback mode with Madhu, the mother of police officer Amrit Kumar, approaching a very successful lawyer Sukumar to get her son released from jail. Amrit Kumar has been imprisoned for incorrectly ordering the killing of a business owner Aman. The novel is set in the fictional town of Rajapur.

To fight the case well, the lawyer tries to get more information of the background of Amrit Kumar. He finds out that his mother Madhu was the daughter of a trade union leader, who won the college elections , yet married the loser of the college elections, Upendra, who came from a priestly family which managed the Thakurjee temple. The temple had a lot of land attached to it. A rich local businessman Chadha wanted the temple land along with his business associate Aman from Dubai. So using the college classmates of Upendra, Ketan and Sohan, they manipulate the system, using a combination of betrayal and blackmail to grab the land. Sohal is indebted to Chaddha who he has borrowed a large amount from for leading a life of luxury and business.

The Mahant of the Thakurjee temple is Upendra’s uncle Tapendra Nath, a bachelor. Blackmailing a devotee(sevak) of Thakurjee, Sumati, who was a drug addict, Ketan manages to poisoning the Mahant of the temple, making Sumati add arsenic to the food she gives the Mahant, killing him slowly and making him sign papers. He also manages to steal the jewelry of the temple by exploiting Sumati, who Tapendra Nath (Kakosa) blindly trusted. In an indication of the high level of manipulation and treachery which has become a feature of life in India today, Ketan manages to frame the honest Upendra for the crime, saying that he was responsible for the death of his uncle and also the theft of jewelry.

Amrit Kumar the son of Upendra and Madhu is born the day after the death of Tapendra Nath, the mahant of the Thakurjee. To make Upendra look guilty, Chaddha and Ketan manipulated the local media, having defamatory stories published about him. When Madhu visited Upendra who was lodged in Central Jail, after being framed for a crime he did not commit with her son, he said that he would like to attend the Bhandara ( religious ceremony) of his uncle, so that he could clarify what happened. However the next day, he was found dead in an apparent “suicide” . After the death of her husband, Madhu was in a state of shock, however her brother a police inspector Jayant offers shelter

Like his sister Madhu, the Jayant who becomes an ACP is also idealistic and honest, so his actions are causing losses to Chaddha and Sohan. So they get the staff of the police inspector Jayant to betray him, provide confidential information which allows Chaddha’s men to shoot him dead. The 6 year old Amrit Kumar is the sole witness to the brutal murder, which leaves him traumatized for the rest of his childhood and he wishes to become a police inspector like his uncle though he could select any profession with his good grades. Though his mother objects , she eventually agrees. However those opposing the idealistic Amrit Kumar, manage to get him framed, using a combination of treachery and bribery, leading to the case State vs Amrit Kumar. How Sukumar defends his client is the crux of the story

Though the domain investor who actually owns this website does not have a government job, allegedly 10 lazy greedy mediocre inexperienced google, tata sponsored goan sex workers, cheater housewives, blackmailers and other fraud women who never answered JEE, invested money online, or did any work online, are falsely claiming to have the resume, including btech 1993 ee degree, investment of the domain investor to get R&AW/CBI/indian intelligence jobs with monthly government salary, in a story of identity theft similar to the 2009 Aamir Khan starrer “3 Idiots” where the servant has to give up his engineering degree to the rich rancho. Since Indian intelligence agencies are involved, the domain investor cannot even file a case against the indian state as it is very difficult to get any kind of information about the designation of these 10 fraud indian government employees.

The book correctly focusses on betrayal that has become rampant in Indian society and is the reason, why so many foreigners were able to conquer India. For example the domain investor paid more than Rs 1.1 lakh to google, tata sponsored bengaluru shivalli brahmin cheater housewife bbm nayanshree hathwar, who then cheated her, and instead of being punished, was rewarded with a R&AW job falsely claiming that she had the resume including btech 1993 ee degree, investment of the domain investor. The police refused to file a case against nayanshree despite providing evidence. Similarly goan gsb fraud diploma holder siddhi mandrekar committed corporate espionage on the domain investor, and was rewarded with a R&AW job falsely claiming that she has the resume, investment of the domain investor, including this domain/website. Another fraud R&AW employee rewarded for betrayal is the indore housewife bespectacled veena and her associates deepika, mahesh

In a clear indication that harassment of the indian state is not limited to fiction novels, there are others like goan gsb fraud housewife riddhi nayak who looks like actress kangana ranaut, slim goan obc bhandari sex queen sunaina chodnekar, 2013 bsc eighth standard pass gujju housewife naina, mother of two sons, who have got lucrative R&AW/CBI jobs with fake resumes, fake investment falsely claiming to own this website and other domains to get a monthly indian government salary, though they do not spend any money online, do not do any work online, and do not control this website. The powerful corrupt CBI, NTRO employees who are involved in the identity theft fraud, which started in 2010, are not even willing to acknowledge the time and large amount of money spent by the domain investor for this and other websites, and are shameless in falsely claiming credit for work they do not do.

The book also indicates the complete lack of ethics of rich business owners, who will stoop to any level to become richer, committing crimes. For example the domain investor would not be subjected to identity theft, if large internet and tech sector companies allegedly google, tata were not extremely unscrupulous in destroying competition, acquiring talent and technology cheaply. However harmless single woman experienced engineers, domain investors subjected to identity theft by CBI, NTRO, indian intelligence agencies cannot file a case against the indian state because of lack of evidence, as these agencies are not covered under RTI. This is a honest review of the book, unlike most of the online reviews which are copy paste jobs. It would be interesting to know how this review will rank in search engines.

The book ” State vs Amrit Kumar” has been written by Dr. Govind Sharma , a retired IAS officer, who was the chief electoral officer of Rajasthan and held other important positions. Unlike the popular best sellers, which are extremely forgettable romances which are mainly for time pass, this is a very well written and relevant book for all those who are connected to India. The mainstream media in India rarely highlights the dark side of business and life in India, and the author has used his extensive experience to rightly indicate the complete lack of ethics in business in India, how betrayal, lies , bribery and manipulation are widespread. Most young indians are leading a fairly sheltered life, and are not aware of the complete lack of ethics till it is too late.

Summarizing the book ” State vs Amrit Kumar” by Dr Govind Sharma is highly recommended, it will be far more useful for college students and idealistic young people, compared to the books of Chetan Bhagat, which have been incorporated in the Delhi University syllabus.
