While everyone wishes to get placed in top companies on the first day itself, many do not impress the interviewers. After struggling, Verma is placed in Britannia. He is assigned the task of getting a questionnaire filled in various cities and towns in North India. Though he is initially happy to spend time with his family and expects to hire a taxi for visiting the various cities, he is told to take the local buses. How he finishes his internship and get his dream job forms the rest of the book.

Though Verma achieves his career goal to get a high paying job at IIM Bangalore, his girlfriend Anoushka becomes more distant and then finally breaks up with him.
