It appears that in some colleges there is an exchange program, and some students get an opportunity to study in the United States for a semester. Puja is selected for the exchange program along with Rahul from another hostel. After spending a few months together Puja dumps Sukhi and starts dating Rahul, since she finds him more suitable. However this adversely affects Sukhi, who starts neglecting his health and dies
Divya with AIR 17, has the highest AIR in the hostel and is studying computer science. She starts dating a senior Saurabh who uses her help to practice and get admission to IIM Ahmedabad. After getting admission to IIM, Saurabh stops communicating so Divya goes to the Ahmedabad to meet him, and they sleep together. Immediately afterwards he sends a message that he wishes to break up, adversely affecting Divya, who becomes a mental wreck and is forced to drop a semester.
Though she is from a conservating family, Tanu also starts dating a senior Champ, who gets a scholarship to Berkeley and leaves India. However since Tanu is planning a startup with her lab partner Silver,she decides to postpone admission, but remains in touch with Champ over phone.
As the final year ends, Puja gets engaged to her boyfriend Rahul. Her sister Piya, arrives for the engagement from the United States. After offering to keep an eye on Champ, Piya announces that she and Champ are planning to get married soon, shocking Tanu who is madly in love with champ . Piya claims that Champ could wait forever. The main protagonist of the story is Joseph, an aspiring musician who has relocated to Guwahati from Delhi to focus on his music career.
The book begins with Joseph calling his girlfriend in Delhi,Uma to wish her on her birthday
Instead of being happy at his greetings, Uma tells that she wishes to leave him since they are living apart for a few years,she has found another boyfriend Tonmoy and is planning to relocate to Mumbai. To fund the relocation she also sells Joseph’s bike which he left with her in Delhi for a very low price of Rs 8000 and promises to return the money.
Initially Joseph is very upset and is moping about the breakup,over time he gets over it, and improves his finances taking tuitions for students and doing everything which is in demand. He also tries to find a new girlfriend, airing a song on the radio station about the girl he briefly met at the bus stop.

The book is loosely based on the security breach when gelatin sticks in a car were found outside Atlanta, the home of Mukesh Ambani who was then the richest man in India. The incident was widely covered in the mainstream media, and this book recollects the incident with the names of the characters changed to avoid legal problems or defamation. While the real life incident is not resolved till date, in the book, the author has his own theory of who did it and how it was done.
The book starts with TV coverage of the discovery of gelatin sticks outside the house of kuberiya, richest man in india and asia. The house is located in a posh area of Mumbai, Peddar Road, close to the beach. The security incharge is a retired R&AW employee Aman Chaudhary
The various security agencies including police, ATs, NIA swing into action to find out who was responsible. The ownership of the car is traced to a car dealer Hasmukh who is later found dead. Yatin Sathe, assistant police inspector in the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai police, is arrested . This character is loosely based on the Sachin Vaze, the API in the CIU who was linked with the gelatin sticks. Just like Sachin Vaze was allegedly reporting to Parambir Singh, who was then mumbai commissioner of police , Yatin Sathe is working closely with Mahavir Tomar, the Mumbai CP
Like in the real life incident, Mahavir Tomar is also transferred to a department which is of no consequence after the incident, holding him responsible. The character of retired inspector Dilip Verma is based on Encounter specialist Pradip Sharma who is also closely working with Sathe. For eliminating the underworld from Mumbai through encounters, Dilip Verma was made the CIU incharge after it was formed. NIA also arrests Dilip Verma from Lonavla where he has gone on a holiday. How the mastermind of the plot is traced, his motivation forms the rest of the story. Due to the corruption in the CIU, the author has abbreviated the book name as Criminals in Uniform
This book explains the functioning of the security agencies, specifically mentioning that while in other states, the Director General of police is the top post, in Maharashtra the Mumbai CP position is the most prestigious. Though the book shows the NIA as a very efficient agency compared to the police, some harmless private citizens especially in the internet sector, are finding that they are cheated, exploited, and their retirement savings are stolen by government agencies allegedly NIA without a court order causing great financial hardship
There are almost no well written English books on the function of the security agencies in india. This is well written book, recommended for those who wish to understand how the security agencies, especially the police work, the connection between police, media and business.

Often people spend a lot of time and money on their favorite passion or interest and finally find that no one is interested
Behram’s boat is the story of a retired Parsi insurance agent, Behram Rustomjee whose wife died several years ago.
After his retirement, he has plenty of free time, and he becomes an alcoholic drinking excessively, causing problems for himself and his married daughter Persis.
Tired of cleaning up the mess her father creates due to his alcoholism, Persis gets her father admitted to a sanatorium, so that he gives up his drinking habit.
Due to the noise which children in the vicinity create, Behram is not able to sleep well, so he goes out to shout at children. Upset at his sleep being disturbed he also destroys the paper boats of the children who are lead by Pesi. In the verbal argument that ensues, the young boy taunts Behram on what he has achieved till date.
The Parsi newspaper is owned by Dorabjee and Behram’s daughter works Persis there. Dorabjee publishes an article on the declining Parsi population which was 75000 and will decline further. This gives Behram the idea of having a boat in which the young Parsi people will travel to Iran where the Parsis came from and hopefully they will meet fall in love with each other, marry and have more Parsi children to increase the Parsi population.
Though he initially rejects the idea, Dorabjee realizes that the idea has potential to boost the newspaper circulation. So he decides to go ahead in building the boat in Salaya, Gujarat, with the help of donations from the parsi community and others. Behram is so obsessed with the idea that he gives up on alcohol and works on the boat himself, living in salaya himself. What ultimately happens after the boat is built forms the rest of the story.

The book Hooligan turned Holy man is the story of Sangli baba, who is becoming increasingly popular in the area where he resides, having a large number of followers. Sindu is a journalist with a newspaper who is assigned to interview Sangli baba and find the reasons for his popularity. She goes to the address she is given and locates the house. She finds that he is living in a old small house with his wife.
Sangli baba tells the story of his life, that when he was young, he was involved in illegal activities, theft, extortion and similar criminal activities for ten years. However, when he took a supari to murder an old man, he was filled with remorse, so he surrendered and was imprisoned for ten years. However, due to good behavior he was released after seven years, and then he wandered all over india for self discovery. He met some naga sadhus who explained the right way to deal with all the problems people faced, using their experience. So he returned to his home town and took up a job in a garment factory.
He then used the sutras he learned from the Naga sadhus to deal with problems and help others who are also facing similar problems. He then describes the different sutras which can help a person deal with their difficulties better.
The book is divided into various chapters like Impossible is possible, living with anger, peace is internal, change your perspective, enjoy the culinary delights, live the stages of your life well.
