One of the trends which the mainstream media does not cover, is how the government agencies have made criminal defamation of hardworking skilled, experienced professionals, especially from poor communities very lucrative, rewarding those who defame and their associates with government jobs falsely claiming that the liars have the impressive resume, savings, skills of the person they defame.
This shows that the government is gradually forgetting the principles of British common law, based on justice, equity and good conscience and reverting to hindu law . The book on India’s legal system is interesting, it exposes how the british law is more fair to citizens. A Tribute to my Dreams is mainly about a matrimonial dispute, the main protagonist Abhay marries a beautiful woman Sveta after an arranged marriage . However after a few years it becomes obvious that they do not get along and they file for divorce. They also have a young daughter Adithi, and her mother refuses to allow Abhay to visit her after they separate. However Abhay is very attached to his daughter and tries very hard to get custody of his daughter while his wife exploits his weakness for his daughter to mental harass him, waste his time.
Getting a divorce is also very difficult and time consuming as Svetha and her lawyer often do not turn up in court when the hearing is scheduled, so Abhay has to waste a lot of time attending the court, only to find that his wife has not turned up. It clearly indicates how stressful and time consuming a divorce or any legal issue can become in India, if one of the spouses is not cooperating or wishes to take revenge as they will simply not turn up when the case hearing is scheduled. Abhay is luckily that his advocate for the case, Sarita Arora is a family friend and a true well wisher, who tries very hard to sincerely get a good deal for him and get custody of his daughter
One of the more interesting aspects of the book is how Sweta and her lawyer intentionally manipulate the system to show that Abhay is a hot headed person who is getting angry very quickly and is not suitable for getting custody of his young daughter. Though he has been granted visitation rights for his daughter despite waiting for more than six months, Sweta and her lawyer do not allow him to contact his daughter, giving flimsy excuses that Sweta and Aditi are not keeping well. Hearing these obvious lies, Abhay becomes very angry, and this is used by Swetha’s lawyer as proof that he has a quick temper and is not to be trusted with the custody of his small daughter.
The indian mainstream media does not write about it, however the tactic of making fake claims , speaking blatant lies to defame, harass, make people angry is very widespread in India, and widely used by the security and intelligence agencies, especially in Goa to defame, cheat and exploit vulnerable harmless indian citizens, especially domain investors.
